Delhi metro provides parking facility to its passengers. Passenger can stand their vehicles in parking area.

It make peoples more convenient to reach nearby metro station by their own vehicle and rest of journey they travel by metro because every person want to reach destination on time whether it is office, school, shop.

It saves person’s time, money as well as prevents pollution, road accident, and unnecessary traffic jam in roads. Parking charges are very nominal. They charge different rates for scooter, cars, taxis, cycles according to hours.

Some of parking areas are equipped with CCTV cameras to keep eye on suspects. Now a day’s more and more people demanding from parking space because people like to leave their vehicle at station. “The parking contractor will have to wear a uniform and carry the identity card at all times. Parking sites will have signage giving details of the parking contract and rates,” said a DMRC spokesperson.

The move will also end the strife over parking charges and rules at metro stations. For the safety of the parked vehicles and for the security of their own premises, the DMRC will have boundary walls enclosing the parking sites and a room for the parking attendants. “The attendants can use the facility for keeping helmets and other belonging and they will also have to ensure the parking areas are neat and clean.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has also emphasized the need to keep the parking sites clean and for the staff to be on alert,” the spokesperson said.

Currently, the total operational parking area under the DMRC is 1, 98, 942 sq m spread across 76 metro stations. The largest parking space available on Line 1 (Dilshad Garden to Rithala) is at Kanhaiya Nagar with a parking area of approximately 7, 000 sq m., while on Line 2 (Central Secretariat – Jehangirpuri) it is at the Patel Chowk station, which has a parking area of 8, 400 sq m.On Line 3 (Dwarka Sector 9 to Noida City Centre) Yamuna Bank and Janakpuri West stations have the biggest parking slots of 6, 300 sq m and 6, 400 sq m respectively.

Multi-level parkings at New Delhi Metro Station (on the Airport Express Link) are under commission.

“On Line 6 (Central Secretariat-Badarpur) stretch we have made provisions for offering adequate parking space. Stations like Nehru Place and Okhla which have a high footfall will have a parking bay stretching up to 2000 sq m, Kalkaji will have a 1040 sq m and Govindpuri 1779 sq m kept aside for parking purposes. The parking contracts for Tughlakabad, Mohan Estate and Badarpur are also in process and will be operational with the opening of the line till the last stop,” the spokesperson said.

The urgent need to initiate advanced studies in the areas of History of Art, Conservation, and Museology has been discussed for years and the first step was taken in 1983, when diploma and post graduate diploma courses in History of International and Modern Art and their Sources and Restoration of Oil paintings were initiated in National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. In the year 1985, the programme was shifted to National Museum and its scope was expanded to include teaching of History of Art, covering both Ancient and Modern, Eastern and Western. The programme of Restoration of Oil paintings was also widened to include the restoration of other works of art of organic and inorganic material.

With a view that the students can benefit and make a career out of these advanced studies, and because of the fact that mere diplomas may not make them eligible to apply and compete for various posts in the museums, galleries and universities, it was considered appropriate to set up an Institute that could award its own M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. Thus the Society of the National Museum Institute of the History of Art, Conservation and Museology, Delhi was formed and registered on January 27, 1989 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Based on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission, the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India accorded the status of ‘Deemed to be University’ on April 29, 1989 to the National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology, to be administered by the above Society.

The Institute is open on all working days (Monday – Saturday) from 9.45 A.M. to 5.15 P.M. and remains closed on second Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted holidays as observed by the Government of India. The Institute follows semester system and there are two semesters in a calendar year extending from July to December and January to June.Presently, there are three departments in the Institute, viz. (i) Department of History of Art (ii) Department of Conservation; and (iii) Department of Museology.

Presently, the Institute is located in National Museum and consequently does not have its own campus and Hostel buildings. As soon as the buildings are ready in its NOIDA campus, the hostel facilities to its students can be provided.

alt="" width="150" height="150" />The Indian Army is the land based branch and the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces.
According to the IISS, in 2010 the army had a strength of 1,129,900 active personnel and 960,000 reserve personnel, making the Indian Army the world’s largest standing volunteer army.
Its primary mission is to ensure the national security and defence of the Republic of India from external aggression and threats, and maintaining peace and security within its borders. It also conducts humanitarian rescue operations during natural calamities and other disturbances. The President of India serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Army. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), a General, is a four star commander and commands the army. There is typically never more than one serving general at any given time in the Army. Two officers have been conferred the rank of field marshal, a 5-star rank and the officer serves as the ceremonial chief.
The Indian Army came into being when India gained independence in 1947, and inherited most of the infrastructure of the British Indian Army that were located in post-partition India. It is a voluntary service and although a provision for military conscription exists in the Indian constitution, it has never been imposed. Since independence, the army has been involved in four wars with neighboring Pakistan and one with the People’s Republic of China. Other major operations undertaken by the army include Operation Vijay, Operation Meghdoot and Operation Cactus. Apart from conflicts, the army has also been an active participant in United Nations peacekeeping missions.

The station was officially inaugurated on December 19, 2009, on completion of the first phase of its constrution. It is one of the modern and upcoming stations in Delhi. Spread over 42 hectares of area, this terminal is expected to be one of the largest railway stations catering to all East–bound trains from Delhi after the second phase of the station becomes operational. The plan for Anand Vihar Railway Station bagan way back in 2003, but the construction of the terminal was started in October 2006 by the Northern Railways. It was originally decided to complete the construction of the first phase of the terminal by mid-2007. However, it was revised to March 2008, which was again missed due to various reasons.Initially two new trains were scheduled to run from the Anand Vihar terminal, namely, New Jalpaiguri Express and Farakka Express headed for West Bengal. Later, three more trains running from other stations of Delhi to Varanasi, Jogbani and Motihari are also shifted to this terminal. Anand Vihar Railway Terminal with station code ANVR is the first station in the capital with an engine maintenance depot.

Once this terminal becomes fully operational, it is expected to cater to three lakh passengers who will travel on 272 trains daily from this terminal. The total cost of the project is estimated as Rs 230 crore, of which Rs 85 crore is spent on developing infrastructure for the construction of the first phase of the terminal. Phase I of the two-storey railway station was started with just three platforms, a coach maintenance yard and feeder lines to the Sahibabad Junction. The Phase I took over 5 years to complete.

This modern terminal has many new and important features including its subways, a separate parcel-loading centre, a 60-train strong maintenance yard, food courts, touchscreens and specialized reservation counters.

The station is well connected to Anand Vihar ISBT, and Anand Vihar Metro station. The station premises offers ample parking space for commuters. This new terminal will help in reducing congestion at the other three major railway stations at Delhi. This new terminal is designed on the lines of the Vashi terminal at Navi Mumbai.

Regular trains from Anand Vihar Railway Station started on March 10, 2010 and at present the trains serving the station are, Anand Vihar Motihari Garib Rath from Anand Vihar (ANVR) to Motihari (MKI), Anand Vihar Varanasi Garib Rath from Anand Vihar (ANVR) to Varanasi Junction (BSB), Seemanchal Express from Anand Vihar (ANVR) to Jogbani (JBN), and Varanasi Anand Vihar Garib Rath from Varanasi Junction (BSB) to Anand Vihar (ANVR).

The Anand Vihar station has all the basic facilities like booking office, booking counters, waiting halls with facilities for handicapped passengers, separate arrival and departure areas, cloak rooms, reservation halls, toilets, parcel and luggage office, operational and service accommodation and parking areas etc.

The Anand Vihar Railway Station also incorporates some modern amenities like ATMs, a touch-screen enquiry system, foreign exchange counters, commercial and maintenance offices, food plazas, and a computerised ticketing facility. Retiring rooms and dormitories will also be provided in the station building.

The terminal has a separate parcel loading facility, two escalators and six lifts and a special heritage gallery and custom-made subways which can be used by physically-challenged passengers. It will also be the only station in India where loading and unloading of parcels, linen and food items will be carried out at the station yard and not in the platform as per the prevailing practise, to keep the platforms clean.

Anand Vihar terminal is going to be one of the ultimate and modern railway terminals in the country in the coming time.
